Subtitles with Jellyfin for Android TV

I have seen posts about this on Reddit and whatnot, but have not seen an answer that fixes this issue for me. I am having a lot of difficulty getting subtitles to load on Jellyfin for Android TV on my Chromecast with Google TV. Subtitles load after 5 or so tries which would suggest a load timeout in my opinion, but I'm no professional. Subtitles are a subrip file type, and the video is direct playing with no excess strain on the server hardware. 
Anyone else experiencing this/know what's up?

In the Android TV app, there is a setting to send logs to the server. Enable that setting, then try to replicate the issue. Hopefully it will generate some logs.

Once you do that, share both the client logs sent to the server as well as your jellyfin server logs and, if they exist, ffmpeg logs related to this playback.

Apologies for the delay. I enabled logs on the TV and did get one sent to the server while turning on subtitles, although I am unsure how to view them. It downloads as just a .file and I have never looked at a log before either. How would I view them and send them in a message here?
