I have an old 4th gen i7 I plan to use as a Jellyfin server, but can't play with it yet because video card in use in another system until the new one shows up.

So, just gathering info right now.

What I would like to do is set it up as the server, and stick it in the corner and never touch it again.

Can I connect to it on my other PC that's on the same network to do all the media scraping/renaming/deleting etc?

Server will be Win10, and my desktop Win11. Plan is to take my drives out of the NAS, put them into the server case, and on my desktop map them as network drives so I can easily cut/paste videos I shrink on my PC to the server.

After that, is there an app or something I can use on my desktop PC to open the Jellyfin server app and do all the maintenance on?

Ideally, I don't want to connect a mouse/keyboard to the server, or a monitor... just the ethernet, power and probably HDMI.... I might run the Server as a Client as well since 3ft from my main TV.

Your browser? You can do all Jellyfin admin tasks from a browser. Our desktop app is primarily a wrapper for Jellyfin-web and can do the same admin tasks. Same with our Android and iOS app.
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage
4x WD Red Pro 6TB CMR in RAIDZ1

Finally got my new video card so, GTX1060-6GB back in the old PC and managed to play with JellyFin a bit on the weekend. I assumed the Server part was an app... so... I can run the server on my old PC and on my new PC login using the admin account through a web browser and do all my add/delete/scraping through that?

Definitely need to play with it more... and figure out how to have remote access outside the house/network.

You add content by placing the files in the folders that Jellyfin monitors. Then you initiate a scan so that jellyfin finds them and starts scraping TMDB/TVDB for metadata.
