I'm a long time Plex user and am trying to setup a strictly local environment for my RV. Plex sucks for local environments Winking-face
I just got a new Windows 11 setup with Jellyfin installed. It works perfectly and was an easy setup. I have a 2 port router that connects it and my roku. I know the Roku sees the media server because I created a new account and set it to show the user when opening the application. So when I open emby on the roku, it connects to the server and displays the tv and any new users I've created. But when I try to enter the password, it says bad user name/password.

I know it's not a bad password because it's literally two characters.

When I look at the logs, I do not see any attempt at logging in anywhere, it does not show up in the devices and there is no information in activity pertaining to the roku device.

    I've:
    reset the password multiple times
    reset the Jellyfin Service
    enabled DLNA
    enabled remote connections
    turned off Windows Firewall
    Created additional accounts (also failed)
Tried logging in with the admin account (also failed)

    Am I missing anything?

Is this a typo and you meant you opened the Jellyfin app on your Roku?  Or were you trying to use the Emby app on your Roku?

aaaaand I'm an idiot. I was watching a few "How To" videos on a Jellyfin/Roku setup and they used emby to do so. So I naturally tried using that. I just installed the Jellyfin app on the Roku and it worked perfectly. Thanks!

At one point you could still use Emby clients with Jellyfin server. But the code bases have long diverged to the point they are no longer compatible.
