I’ve used the Jellyfin app and it’s really finicky. Swiftfin, Finamp and Infuse don't even display my audio book library. Is there another way to do it that I’m missing?

I am assuming you are using the Books type library for your audio books. Which is what you should be using since the Music library doesn't support playback tracking/resume. Those clients do not support Books libraries.

I have this same problem. On the iPhone app and using a browser on my phone the audio stops as soon as the app goes into the background or I lock the phone? Is there a way to fix this or just hope a future update addresses it? I have my audiobooks in a books library.

This is a long running issue with our iOS app.
https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-expo/issues/19 For music check out Finamp via Apple Testflight. https://testflight.apple.com/join/UqHTQTSs Not sure what options there are for audio books.

For iPhone, BookPlayer has been great for audiobooks. It’s open source, has all the functionality I expected, and was designed to import audiobooks from Jellyfin.

I just use Jellyfin app.
My audiobooks is re-encoded to .opus and kept in .mka container - works great. Just use "books" as content type of the library.
