Sorry, super dumb question from a Jellyfin noob...

Where is the setting to turn the Screensaver on and off? I turned it on last night, and decided I didn't like it, and now I can't find the option to turn it off.

If you're using the web client UI, go to your client settings and into "Display".

    Hello,

I actually have a similar screensaver question, where is the settings for that on the latest android client on Nvidia Shield...???
On the server side the settings with backdrop as screensaver and the timings is functioning, but these settings seem to have no effect on the client side.

a second question that I have is, where actually is the general settings on this client side...???
example : on the server side you can set the display to show, albums as albums, or as album artists, etc, but these setting also has no effect on the client side.

Im running latest Jellyfin server on Truenas Scale, and latest client on Nvidia Shield.

In the Jellyfin app on your Shield, click on the gear in the top right then customization, IIRC.

That also answers your second question. The gear icon is pretty small and only accessible from the Jellyfin home screen.

I want to clear up some confusion on your end.

There's two places where you can set settings with Jellyfin:
    1. The dashboard
    2. Client settings

The dashboard settings is the server settings (and as such, applies to your whole server).

The client settings are reachable by clicking on your profile picture on the upper-right of your screen on the normal web UI.
These settings (as the name suggests) only apply to the current client. You're confusing the web UI accessible from your web browser. It also counts as a client, so those settings will only apply to that browser session.
That's the reason those settings do not apply to any other client that you use.

    Hello again,

Now I find the mentioned settings for the client app on my Nvidia Shield.

Regarding the screensaver, in the settings I can tick the use in-app screensaver and I can set the timings for it,
but this then just blur the whole background as soon as it starts, it does not use the background image...is this normal behavior..??

Regarding settings of the way it display, as example music albums, there is no settings. This means it will always display the first albums in the folder, no matter how many different artist this folder has.
After entering the music albums folder, I will then have to use the view settings at the bottom and choose album artists to could be able to see what else is in there, I cant define that I want album artists
to be displayed as soon as I enter the folder music albums.....is that normal behavior...???.

Maybe it is me who use wrong settings or maybe I overlook something, so if you guys could direct me it would be great.

    BR
