    Seek bar not working in Android app for certain shows

    I've found a really weird issue.  Certain shows when played on my Android app (fully updated) do have the blue bubble in the play bar that lets you drag it to seek.  Additionally tapping to fast forward doesn't work and instead resets the episode.  Also chapter markers do not work.

    I'm using the integrated player in the app, but that has never been an issue before.  A notable change recently is I did a big upgrade from 10.8 to 10.10.3. But it's odd that only certain shows are exhibiting this behavior.

    Good idea but I'm afraid it didn't work. I cleared the cache and the app data.

    Doing further tests, this problem is more widespread than I thought. At least half of the movies and shows I try exhibit this behavior with the seek bar locked and chapters not working. It is only a problem with the integrated player, the web player works fine. My problem with the web player and the reason I moved away from it, is it wants to automatically put media into full screen landscape mode instead of just keeping a smaller portrait version (I turn auto-rotate on my phone off). I don't want this behavior and that's why I use the integrated player.

    edit: my wife has encountered this on her Android tablet as well, so it looks to be more than just my phone acting weird.

    Huh. There aren't any chapter markers nor is there a next chapter button.

    I'll look into this tomorrow with the dev.

    Hmm, this is a screenshot from my phone, I don't see any chapters button.  Also, the seekbar has historically shown up for everything and still does for some movies and shows.

    Yeah. I'm not seeing what the dev described with the integrated player. But then I found this on the Android app's git hub. The screenshot from the OP.

    They have chapter markers....

    I'll add this to my list of stuff to look into this weekend.

    For what it's worth I've had this problem too, interestingly it reliably happens with all videos in one season of one show, but not in other seasons of the same show. It also only happens with the native Android client, not the web client on other systems. If there's any useful information I can provide for troubleshooting/diagnosing the issue let me know.
