Hello, I would like to make my own poster of a series and make it unchangeable after setting it manually. The poster is repeatedly overwritten during a media scan.

    Hi,

For individual movies/shows you can hit the three dots select Edit Metadata and look for option Lock this item to prevent future changes, select it and Save Changes.

For an entire library go to Menu , Metadata ( under Administration ) select the library you want and look for option Lock this item to prevent future changes, select it and Save Changes.

    Thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately this doesn't work with the poster or the pictures. At least for me

I do not have this issue unless I’m selecting Search for missing metadata with Replace existing images or Replace all metadata in Scan Library or Refresh Metadata.

Is Automatically refresh metadata from the internet set to never ?

The Update metadata from the Internet function is set to never. I use the “Scan for new and updated files” function to scan when “new content” has been added.

You are doing the scan because some descriptions of the movie are wrong , missing or just to update the media database (libraries) ?

I use "Scan All Libraries" option in the Menu/Dashboard when the media database doesn't update automatically after I add a new movie or show. In cases where the metadata is incorrect or absent, I refresh the metadata and proceed to the "Edit Images" section, where I replace the existing poster with my custom one.

This is also my approach: I always scan for the entire media library using the function in the administrative overview. I will look at the log files where the image path is and then overwrite them and make them write-protected, that should be a suitable workaround.
