    Hi all,

I have installed JellyFin on Windows Server under the Administrator user.

When the account logs off from the server, JellyFin stops working, which I assume allows JellyFin to only run if the user is logged in.

I have installed it under C:\JellyFin.

Is there a way to prevent JellyFin from stopping when the user logs off ?

    Thanks

When you ran the installer, you were prompted to select either a basic install, which is what you did, or a service install.

You want a service install, which will allow Jellyfin to run without your user logged in.

If your media is on a network share that would complicate the setup. IIRC there are additional steps you need to take to A) allow the service to access the network share and B) mount the network share on boot.

If your media is on a directly attached drive, you just need to change the user the service runs as to a user that has access to that drive or grant the service user permission to read that drive.

    Thanks for the response TheDreadPirate.

Thanks for mentioning the direct attached storage as I am going that route.

Will set it up as a service this evening and hopefully get things up and running quickly.
