I am a long time Emby user, one of the things I love is basically instant skipping, I am talking about jumping ahead in 30 sec (or whatever they are) increments.

I have recently been using and enjoying JF on Android TV (CCwGTV) and it seems like when you skip you have to push play again to get it to play once the skipping is done, is this correct? Or maybe it is just slow. Seems like whenever I skip the picture freezes and sits there for a bit and I need to push play to get it working again. Not sure if I am missing something. I am using the stock client from the play store.

I think that is just how the Android TV version works.  That's also how it works for me on my Chromecast w/Google TV.  Personally, I think this behavior is fine.  Perhaps submit a feature request in the Git for the Android TV app?  To give you another behavior option?

Just seems like it is odd behavior to other common apps like Kodi and Emby.

This is an open source project.  Each component of Jellyfin is pretty much maintained by one person....in their FREE time.  Updates and changes are slow.

Not trying to be mean, that's just the way open source is.  Especially small projects.

Literally, the fast way to get a change you want is to learn to code and make the change yourself.
