Jellyfin 10.8.11 (docker on Qnap NAS):

After I update album cover images (via TheAudioDB or via manual upload), all modifications get lost after a library scan.

Unfortunately, library scans are executed every 24 hours by default.

A workaround is of course to switch off that nightly scan.

    But not a solution.

Any ideas? Can someone confirm that this a bug?

    Or maybe a misconfiguration?

Can you share your logs with us? Also, do you have images in the directories with the music? Or NFO files?

    Images...

Yes, that was the problem. I had some JPGs in some of the folders.

    Problem solved.

However, images that were uploaded manually or via AudioDB lookup should have a higher priority than these images.

    Thanks!

My understanding is that jellyfin always prefers local file based metadata and images. The assumption is that if you have images or NFO files with your media that you put them there for a reason and want them to be used.
