Android TV app often does not play media

This only started recently, I'm guessing after a recent Android TV app update. Media often does not play but force stopping the app and clearing cache gets everything working again. I enabled trickplay as an experimental feature.. not sure if this is affecting things. Anyone else experiencing this? CCWGTV HD is my client.

0.18.4 was released recently. Perhaps your device got that update just now?

I haven't enabled trickplays on my Google TV Streamer nor my CCwGTV 4K. I will give that a try tonight and report back if I can replicate the problem.

I will check if I am on version 0.18.4 when I get home tonight... but I'm guessing I am as CCWGTV tends to automatically update to non-beta releases. I will also disable trickplay to see if this fixes the issue. If you are trying to replicate the issue.. I notice that it happens mostly when I add new media. The new item will not play initially.. but when I force stop / delete cache it will play.

Apparently I've had this enabled on my Google TV Streamer for a while and haven't had any issues. I didn't have time to check my CCwGTV 4K. That would be more in line with your hardware.

Had some time to test on my CCwGTV 4K (much closer in spec to your HD model). Can't reproduce the problem with experimental trickplay support enabled.

Many thanks for taking the time to test on your side. On my side some media is very slow to start but eventually starts (after waiting 15 seconds or so). Haven't experienced media not starting for a while now. Hopefully it has gone away

Is the server transcoding either the audio or video? Or extract subtitles? Either would explain the delayed start on slower server.
