I have set the "Save artwork into media folders" setting to true so all artwork for my movies and shows is saved in their respective folders.

Recently, I noticed that there was a very large amount of extra images being saved, for example Clearlogo.jpg, banner.jpg, fanart.jpg, etc...

Is there a way to search only for specific image types? I really only need season posters, a backdrop and episode thumbnails for series, not 10+ extra images that take up space.

In the dashboard, click the context menu for your library and select "Manage Library." Find the "Fetcher Settings" option next to the different categories to choose which items you'd like to download.

Thanks, that does indeed gives me the option to disable the banner files. I don't see an option for the fanart.jpg though.. is that set in another place?

Do you have the fanart plugin installed?

I have no plugins except for AniDB, Subtitle Extract and Theme Songs.

I'm also trying to figure out which Scheduled Task is responsible for placing the images in the media folders, since I noticed that all images were back this evening. I can't seem to find any in the list that show that I can trigger the downloading of the images.. Could you help with that as well?

Do you have an external application adding images/metadata? I haven't been able to replicate this in my test library with those plugins.

Not to my knowledge. I previously used Jellyfin mostly because of the nice setup for the images, but I only recently noticed that these additional files existed.

I also noticed that the season images were previously placed in the season folder with the name folder.jpg, but now they are placed in the main series folder as season01-poster.jpg.

Did Jellyfin recently change the naming of these files? I can't find anything in the releasenotes.

Primary downloads both the poster and backdrop(fanart).

But the backdrop is named backdrop.jpg, correct? If I manually select another backdrop, I can see that file change. I can't seem to find out what is placing the fanart.jpg image in my folders..

I seem to have figured something out, there was apparently another docker container that had an update and now functioned as a metadata provider, which caused the images to appear. I have fixed that issue.

What has apparently changed from my expectation is that Jellyfin season posters now use the /SeriesName/season01-poster.jpg format, instead of the previous /SeriesName/Season 01/folder.jpg format.. I will make a separate post regarding this.
