    Hello,

I use Jellyfin on a PC locally with the Jellyfin Media Player on Windows 10. When I start the Media Player, I am asked to add a new server, type in the server name (localhost) and afterwards the login name. It connects fine, no issue there. But I wish there was a way that the Media Player would just login to the server automatically and also stays logged in with my (only) profile. There is this checkbox to stay logged in, which I checked of course, why I assumed it is possible to not enter your information every time.

So the question is, do you need to add the server every time? If not, how do I make it work?

    Best regards,
    L2theB

Something is wrong with your setup. It should normally be remembering your last used server.

Are you using something that changes your IP address of the Windows 10 PC?

Is your server using a static IP?

Thanks for the response. No my IP should not change, but my PC is also not marked for static IP in the router settings. But the "server" runs locally. The server I need to add every time is the localhost:8096.

I recall there is a plugin that would look for stale sessions and invalidate the token after an idle period?

Do you have that plugin installed?

Also, what server version are you running and what JMP version are you running?

OK a server update to 10.9.8 solved the issue that I have to retype the server name every time.

I still need to type in the user name, even tho I have the stay logged in option checked. Is there a way to always startup as a certain user?

JMP 1.11.1 requires server 10.9.1+. That's why it wasn't behaving before.

You should clear out JMP and delete the token on the server.

In a browser navigate to Dashboard > Devices. Delete the token for JMP.

On the client, go to C:\Users\yourUser\appdata\local. There will be a "jellyfinmediaplayer" and "Jellyfin Media Player" folder. Delete both folders.

Open JMP and log in again. Hopefully this should keep you logged in.
