    Hi there,

Everytime I upgrade a media (new source for the same movie, new quality for an episode of a TV Show, ....), Jellyfin will also change the images for that media.
Is it possible to prevent this, so that the images stays the same when upgrading?

    Thanks!

If you "Edit Metadata" for a show there is a check box to lock the metadata. See if that works for you.

    Thanks for your answer.
That may work, but it's really not a viable solution. I can't go through all my TV show episodes and lock tehm individually.

You should be able to lock it for the whole show in one step.

That's not a viable solution. Maybe for OP's TV shows, but not for me any my 2500 movies. I don't want to lock the metadata of all of them. And I don't even want to lock the metadata, I want the metadata unlocked, I just want it to stop replacing my selected images.

If I have manually selected a thumbnail image, why does jellyfin have to replace it? Jellyfin really thinks it can do a better job selecting a thumbnail that suits my taste than ME? I can tell you with confidence that it is wrong.

If an image has been manually selected, don't touch it. It should be that simple.

Do you have NFO files enabled for your libraries? I made a copy of my main server to test this and I've just tried replacing all my metadata and selected the "replace existing images" too.
I have uploaded countless custom cover images and also selected certain covers from the metadata image picker.

I could not get it to replace my images.

It's not thinking. It's quite literally just pulling the very first thumbnail from your main metadata provider.

This sounds like a great feature request, having a lock item specifically for images would be great.
