Hi, I'm trying to transcode HEVC files on the server for my firestick (cheap one without HEVC).

The server is able to transcode successfully. But, the firestick tries to direct stream, instead of requesting a transcode, and fails.

I am able to circumvent this by setting the max bitrate lower than the file but that isn't ideal.

    server version: jellyfin/jellyfin docker 10.9.10
    firestick app version: jellyfin-androidtv 0.17.4

    Attached Files
    .txt   failedPlaybackLog.txt (Size: 16.12 KB / Downloads: 79)
    .txt   FFMPEGDirectStreamLog.txt (Size: 13.07 KB / Downloads: 74)

What model Firestick? It'd have to be a REALLY old Firestick to not support SDR HEVC 10-bit.

    I have a LY73PR (gen 2 i think)

    It has:
    Processor: Quad-core ARM 1.3 GHz
    GPU: Mali450 MP4

    and states:
    Content Formats Supported: Video: H.264 1080p30H.265 1080p30.

So it looks like it should support 265. Upon further research it should be able to play 265 8 bit but that shouldn't cause it to not request a transcode for 10 bit

A merged PR has addressed that issue and it should be included in the next Android TV release.
