    Hello,
Hoping this message finds you all well. I am encountering a long running issue that I have thought I have solved multiple times at this point. I am running a Jellyfin server from the follow spec'd device:
    Intel 12th Gen i5-12450H
    Integrated Graphics
    16GB DDR4 RAM
    1TB NVMe SSD
    Windows 11
    External 12TB HDD
    WiFi (800mb Down, 200 up)
There are times when I can play a file flawlessly (Spider-Man_log), but others when I am chugging at the player stopping once every 3-4 seconds (The Curse in this case).
I originally thought that my CPU was unable to transcode so I upgraded (I am running this server off another PC than my main one) I would like to avoid having to use my main PC as the server but the problem persists and as far as I know its a resource issue.
I am aware I shouldnt use WiFi however my interface for the PC I am running has a max throughput of 100MB.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

which client device are you using? Transcoding occurs on server side if client can not play your video/audio directly.

I'm assuming that the specs you listed are for the laptop, based on the H class CPU. If so, your laptop specs are more than capable of transcoding. I used to run Jellyfin on a lot less.

I second Serge's question about the clients. The logs you attached look fine, though I question why one ffmpeg log says it is transcoding video while another isn't. And both appear to have been played in Firefox.

If your laptop has an Ethernet connection, I would experiment with verifying that WiFi consistency issues aren't the cause.

I also have to ask if you followed our Intel hardware acceleration guide. There are a couple extra steps you need to take on Windows to properly set it up.

    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB

One is a google chromecast connected to a tv, another is my gaming PC, another is my iPad, and one last one that rarely is used is a laptop.

It is actually a miniPC I bought on Amazon. But yes like I mentioned I used quite a few clients and all of the experience the same intermitant issues. Sometimes my gf will tell me she was able to bing watch 10 episodes of an anime on her chromecast then try to watch a movie and see serious buffering issues. As for Ethernet/WiFi I acutally used to use ethernet on my old server, then moved to WiFi since my chipset isnt able to go any higher than 100mbps. However the issue was there when I had ethernet so I doubt thats it.

Thanks for that guide, its a new one to the ones I have tried so I will go ahead and make the requisite changes and see if that helps at all. Appreciate all the answers

Some are in 4k but almost all are 1080. Movies range from 1-7GB and shows in the same range per episode.

Upon further inspection in Task Manager, I am bottlenecking somewhere since my upload only maxes out at around 6.3Mbps....

    for 4k you need from 40 mb/s

I've been into streaming at home for a long time. And most important thing I did was - 1Gb LAN. My router has 1Gb LAN ports, switch also with 1Gb LAN. WIFI also must be AC

When I did a speed test just now I was 474Mbps Down and 105Mbps Up. However when streaming on Jellyfin I max at 7Mbps up

Unsure if you're referring to the submenu Playback-->Streaming and the limit there? If so there is no limit. Under Networking, there is no Speed Connection setting unless I am looking in the wrong place.
