So I managed to mess up my entire OS installation of ubuntu 22 I was using. And in fixing decided to upgrade to 24.04.

When I did so, of course, I broke my ability to add my libraries again. This time however, I think maybe the issue is more nuanced.

so running sudo ls -ld /media /media/library /media/library/Media_1 I get:

    drwxr-xr-x 5 tyr media 4096 Apr 30 19:31 /media
    drwxrwx--- 3 tyr media 4096 Apr 30 19:05 /media/library
    drwxrwx--- 8 tyr media 4096 Mar 21 10:33 /media/library/Media_1

And I made jellyfin a member of media too. At the moment just jellyfin and myself are listed as members of media.

Whenever I try to add a library of the Folders under Media_1 (Shows, Movies, Music, etc) it says:

The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again.

    Those folders list permissions as:

    drwxrwx---  2 tyr media 16384 Feb 18 07:13 lost+found
    drwxrwx---  17 tyr media  4096 Apr 22 13:49 Movies
    drwxrwx--- 183 tyr media  4096 Apr  1 12:56 Music
    drwxrwx---  34 tyr media  4096 Apr  6 10:01 Porn
    drwxrwx---  51 tyr media  4096 Apr 20 20:34 Shows

Not sure what the issue is.

So is this Docker on Ubuntu or bare metal? Are you able to touch (create) a new blank file on any of those directories as the jellyfin user? Mounted locally (i.e., drives inside/attached to the computer) or network drives?

Bare metal, the drive(s) are in a RAID enclosure attached physically.

so when I try to switch to the jellyfin user in the terminal it wants a password....is there a default, because I didn't set one for it.
