    1. I have this show (tvdb).

In season 1, the first file is a double episode: E01 E02

I have tried to name is S01E01-E02, S01E0102, create an empty file named S01E02 and the double episode S01E01.

The first episode falsly gets named Encounter at Farpoint / The Naked Now.
Episode 3 (file nr2) gets named: Code of Honor / Original title: The Named Show.

No matter what changes i try from  https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/shows/
    The numbering/naming is wrong.

The files are named lik this:
    Code:
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E01-E02 - Encounter at Farpoint Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E03 - The Naked Now Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E04 - Code of Honor Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E05 - The Last Outpost Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E06 - Where No One Has Gone Before Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E07 - Lonely Among Us Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E08 - Justice Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E09 - The Battle Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv
    Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E10 - Hide and Q Bluray-1080p Remux.mkv

In meta data, first file is labeled season 1, episode 1.
second file is named season 1, episod 3. But on External IDS: imdb tt0708689, TheTVDB 46511 - This is the info for the next episode, thus the episode images are the wrong one.

Any idea how to solve this? I have tried moving the whole season 1 outside jellyfin folders, rescanned, moved it back and rescanned.

Your primary metadata source is probably TMDB, which has Encounter at Farpoint as just one long episode, S01E01, instead of two episodes.

Go to the library settings and ensure that TVDB is the primary metadata source and rescan TNG. Make sure to select "replace all metadata". Or you can adjust the file names/episode numbers to match TMDB.

I moved TVDB to the top in the 3 lists, and TMDB to the bottom, rescanned media files and refreshed all meta data + removed images and trickles, Episode 1 (and 2, the combined file) is shown correctly now, but it still mis-labels episodes 3 and onward. The episode numbers seems to always become the next episode's number. Season 1 and Episode fields looks filled in correctly. It also fetches IMDb ID for "the next" episode.

You might need to move the TNG folder out of the library and re-add it. Sometimes incorrect metadata is "sticky" and doesn't change when it should. Also make sure that TVDB is the top metadata provider in every category. Not just the first box.

What i did, that seems to have worked in the end.

moved folder out as you said, rescanned, when that was done, i moved it back and rescanned.
then i placed the TVDB show ID on the whole series putting 71470 into "identidfy" and the box "TheTVDB Numerical Programme Id", now it shows all episodes correctly as far the quick random meta data checks i did -vs- filenames.

    Thank you.
