I have a 4K Roku TV by Onn which I've been using with Jellyfin for the past 2 years. I am trying to play several different movies which used to direct play, but now suddenly are transcoding and not activating HDR. Reason shown in the app is VideoRangeTypeNotSupported, but it worked within the last 3 months. I will attach the FFmpeg log.

The TV definitely supports direct play with HDR of this movie, because I watched it just a few months ago. I also tested a few HDR movies within Netflix to verify my HDR is working on the TV. I don't really know where to start with this. Thank you in advance for any assistance!

I did also try to download the newest jellyfin 3.0.0 app for Roku from github and sideloaded it to the TV, since i heard the current Roku app is being replaced. That did not fix this issue either.

In the future please upload the log to privatebin.net. It's hard to parse as a raw text file.

Have you tried removing the DV from the file since DV in MKV is an issue? It should fall back to HDR but that isn't happening.

A little more info about your setup (server version, install method and host OS, Roku model) would be helpful as well. I'm interested in the Jellyfin log as well, though I'm unsure whether that would provide additional information.

You can find a guide for converting DV to HDR10 here: https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-converting-...n-to-hdr10

Removing DV from the file did fix the issue. Files are now direct playing properly. I'm not sure why it used to work, and now doesn't, but this solution will work for me.
