Hi, I've got exactly the same problem with the removal of lib vlc on my clients firesticks, I'll try this method too and report back.

Just to give you a heads up before you spend hours losing your mind like i did... 

this fix worked for me on my old 1st gen Firestick 4k, but did not work on a brand new Firestick 4k Max.

Both sticks running the most updated apps/firmware... playing the same file, on the same TV, from the same server, with the same Jellyfin/VLC/Firestick settings... old Firestick plays it no problem; new Firestick only audio, black screen.  

I'm no expert, but I'm really struggling to understand how that's possible...

Yeah I've still got this problem on a variety of firesticks, one of which is the most recent 4k max, another being a 2021 4k model IIRC. Seems to be totally random what files will and won't play, as nearly all my movies are 1080p remux files with no HDR, or Dolby Vision etc.
