    Hi - Sorry for the newbie question.

    I'm one of these people that like my movies sorted as I want them to be sorted - i.e. I like my movies sorted so 'The' appears under T and so on and so on. I don't like it when the a an are ignorened.

    So I've gone into the system.xml file and have located:-

    <SortRemoveWords>
        <string>the</string>
        <string>a</string>
        <string>an</string>
      </SortRemoveWords>

    I have removed:-

    <string>the</string>
        <string>a</string>
        <string>an</string>

    So I'm just left with:-

    <SortRemoveWords>
    </SortRemoveWords>

    I've saved the file and re-started the server ( I access it by the tray icon) and then I do a re-scan on my movie library but the sort options have not changed and The, a, an are still being sorted in the default maner. For example 'The Accountant' is being sorted under A and not T

    Can anyone please help - as I said I am a newbie, so I apologise in advance for my lack of kmnowledge

    You need to rescan the library with the search for missing metadata option.

    Go to your Dashboard->Libraries ->Libraries. Then on the library select the context menu (3 vertical dots) then scan library. For refresh mode choose "Search for missing metadata".

    From either the library dashboard or from the home screen, click on the "..." context menu for the library and click refresh metadata. There is a drop down to select the scan type and one of them is "Search for missing metadata".
