Currently, I am running my jellyfin on a Synology NAS.
But lack of fluent browsing disturbs my girlfriend every time she wants to watch old home video of the kids.
I personally got used to it.
But I do wonder how a server would work if I run it from an old pc.
So I downloaded the server for windows, but when I have to add a new media library folder I can only select from the local drives C:\ or D:\.
I tried entering \\servername\video manually as an example, but it accepts that.
How do I run the server from a PC with the video files still on the NAS?
Cause when I manually run the videos from the NAS through explorer, they all run instantly without issue as if it's a local drive.
So I don't see the need to buy an extra drive to transfer everything over.
Also is there a way to reach the data from Jellyfin on the NAS to copy it to the PC because I made it all fancy with custom designs.
