    Hi everyone,

I've been trying to set up a couple of media libraries, one containing short movies (~30 min or less), and one containing movie trailers (~1-4 min).  When I do this, however, and JF performs its scan of the folders, my libraries remain empty.  It is not a permissions issue; the folders in question have the same permissions as my other movie / show / music ones, which have no problems.  It is not a naming issue; the files in question follow the same naming convention as the other ones (which, again, JF has no problem recognizing).

I can reclassify some of these old shorts (such as Laurel and Hardy) as TV shows via the TVDb.  It's a bit of work renaming all those files, but whatever, it gets the job done.  But the other shorts that are not part of a series, and all my trailers, are not acknowledged by JF at all.  I have tried adding the shorts to my existing movie library, but with no luck.  I have also tried setting it up as a mixed movie/show library, also without good results.  I would like to keep the trailers as a separate media library, since I like to watch them on shuffle (I can do this on Plex without any problem, but am trying to distance myself from it these days).

I've seen a Reddit discussion of this issue here (https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/commen...dont_even/), but with no resolution.  One post suggests that the scrapers may not recognize movies below a certain length, although I have had no such problems with my cartoons library (which contains many old Looney Tunes titles, categorized as movies, and which JF has absolutely no issues with despite clocking in at around 7 minutes each).

Has anyone else found a solution to this problem?  I've searched the forums here, but have not found quite the same discussion, since I believe I have eliminated the usual culprits already.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Giving this a bump, since it's still an issue a year later.  I've seen another thread or two describing this same problem, but with no solutions found.

What is your folder structure and how are your files names. Certain keywords like "trailer" and "short" are ignored by Jellyfin. If the file name contains "trailer" or "short", place them in brackets [ ].

What is the name of the folders?

Some folder names are reserved for various functions. "Trailers" is one of them.

Avoid naming your folders with any of the names in the link below.

Awesome, that totally fixed the problem! Sorry, I'd seen that page a million times, but it never sank in that those are reserved names wherever they occur. Especially since "Shorts" and "Trailers" aren't subdirectories of "Movies" on my system. Thanks so much for the help!
