SOLVED: Show next video info not working anymore

Since the 0.16 update for Jellyfin Android TV I no longer get the "waiting screen" (for a lack of better description) after an episode ends with info on the next episode and the "watch next" button on the bottom right. I am using VIMU as an external player and once the current episode ends it immediately starts the next episode. The same happens when using the back button on the remote within the last 30 seconds of the episode, it used to then go to the "next episode" waiting screen but no longer. it does seem to still work with exoplayer, so seems like its an issue with triggering the screen with external players. any ideas?

This is not an issue but an intentional change. The UI of the app was refactored for stability reasons and this conflicted with the way we use external players and it was no longer possible to show the next up screen. External playback is an unsupported feature in the ATV app because we have no contributors actively maintaining it.
