SOLVED: Starting Playback takes a long time on webOS TV

Starting any playback takes about a minute.

I cannot really pinpoint when this started occuring - it might‘ve been after a recent webOS update to 5.40.61 on my LG OLED B9 or after Jellyfin 10.10.X.
Now starting playback of any media takes at least a minute.

That’s not the case on other clients.
The TV is in the same LAN and has a wired connection.

Before, playback started within a few seconds (as it does on other clients now).
I can‘t see any errors in the log either.

Also: it does not matter if it‘s direct playback or transcoded.
Resuming paused playback is flawless though.

Another weird thing that also started recently is that when starting the app, it sometimes throws a network the first few times I try it.
Can't reach, unable to connect... stuff like that. It's also not always the same.

Is anyone else facing the same issue?

Switch to WIFI on your TV. TV makers are notorious for including an ethernet connection to check a box of features, but the NIC is of terrible quality.

WIFI will almost certainly result in a better connection.

    Thanks @TheDreadPirate.
Turns out it was as it is so often.
I wondered for hours, wrote this post and then immediately had the right idea.
My DDNS setup had stopped working for ipv6 for some reason.
IPv4 still worked but it seems that only gets tried after some timeout or something similar…
    Sorry for wasting time 😅
