Hi! I'm coming from plex and don't want to discuss one's features against the others. So far, I like how jellyfin looks overall and will be thrilled to make the change.
However, one thing I'm apparently not able to do is to avoid transcoding altogether.

My mkv files are on a nas on my local network.
Over NFS, a docker container on an intel nuc ins serving the files.
On my fire cube device, over LAN, I usually stream from plex, movies up until 80 something MBPS, with no transcoding at all (direct play)
However, with jellyfin, i don't seem to be able to control how to disable transcoding, which kills my docker setup and intel nuc device with proxmox, which does not have transcoding dedicated hardware such as a GPU or similar.

How can i do to make sure jellyfin is just serving the files to the fire tv client?

This is the last issue that's preventing me from making the final change and not look back.

Navigate to Dashboard -> Users and select your account. In the Media Playback section, you'll find an option to disable transcoding. While you can turn it off, keep in mind that transcoding serves a specific purpose—it’s not just a random process. If the file is compatible, it will play directly; if not, transcoding will occur. Disabling transcoding typically leads to playback issues.
