New install, Windows 11. Jellyfin is not showing srt subtitles that are in same folder as video. This worked before on my old Windows 10 pc. I have read other posts about this, and I'm completely confused. I can't even find where the log files are on my machine. Assume I know nothing. What should I be doing? Some of the videos also have embedded subs but they aren't working either. I'm viewing these on my TCL Roku TV. Thanks for helping me out.

Roku is weird about pretty much all subs. If you have preferred language subs enabled by default, you might try turning that to OFF by default, starting to play the media, then selecting the proper subs. Other route is to try playing the media, turn subs off, then turn them on again. Embedded subs, if they are PGS, will 100% cause transcoding on the Roku platform.

You can find your logs in your JF instance without going to the OS. Go to Dashboard > Logs with an admin account and you'll see both Jellyfin logs as well as any ffmpeg logs for transcodes that occur.

In the Dashboard home, it has a panel with all the important Jellyfin locations. Including where the logs are located.

Find and share the latest log via privatebin.net

Can you also share examples of the file names for both the movie/show and the subtitle file? And how they are organized.

And is the storage local? Or on a NAS?
