I am trying to use syncplay for the first time. I have a 4k movie and I planned on watching it with a friend. But it was stuttering for the one who started the syncplay and was perfectly fine for the one who didnt. So I got a 1080p version, and without syncplay I was able to choose it and watch it properly. But the moment Syncplay is switched on, it goes back to the 4k version. I have done it with syncplay before selecting the movie, and after. Both dont work. Am I making a mistake? Or is this a bug?
Also, I think it is transcoding the video and that is why it is stuttering in 4k, but we are both watching it on relatively new gaming laptops that are more than capable of running in Direct Play.
EDIT: I checked the Github page and it seems this is a bug that the first version will be picked, but it seems like no one is on this issue. Is syncplay being abandoned? I realize things take time, and am willing to wait for this feature to get perfected. The transcoding issue might be related to the same bug.
