First, sorry if this shouldn't go here and should go in the Plugin Development section.
I have a "problem" with a lot of tv shows (it's more usual with anime).
In anime there is a lot of times that after a season or as an ending, a movie gets released. I like to have my shows with the order of the TVDB, because as I said, if between two seasons there is a movie, I have the movie as a special and Jellyfin plays it automatically at the end of the season before starting the next.
There are sometimes, that in Trakt, TheMovieDb, Imdb, these movies are catalogued as movies while in the TVDB they are specials in season 0. For example, with the show Made in Abyss:
TVDB in the specials has three episodes in the movies section (episodes S00E01, S00E02 and S00E03):
https://thetvdb.com/series/made-in-abyss...official/0
If we go to Trakt, the episodes 1, 2 and 3 from season 0, are other episodes, equivalent to episodes 4, 5 and 6 from TVDB
https://trakt.tv/shows/made-in-abyss/seasons/0
In Trakt, they are considered independent movies:
https://trakt.tv/movies/made-in-abyss-jo...-dawn-2019
https://trakt.tv/movies/made-in-abyss-wa...light-2019
https://trakt.tv/movies/made-in-abyss-da...-soul-2020
My problem is that everytime I make a deep clean of my library, taking out all the movies and shows and putting them one by one, removing old or unwanted shows, this special episodes are not identified by Trakt and are not marked as watched or are wrongly marked.
In Jellyfin, in the metadata of the videos, you can put the Imdb id, and Trakt allows you to link the episodes or movies to Imdb too. Now my question is, could it be possible and feasible to make the Trakt plugin to use the Imdb id to identify the movie/episode instead of the season and episode of the show in the library?
Or more simple, add a new external id in the metadata the videos that is the id/url from trakt? So that if its empty, it uses season and episode to identify but if it has data it just takes it?
If it's not possible I would just desist and use the order of Trakt and after every episode check if there is a movie between.
Thanks
