    Hi,

I have Jellyfin installed on my Unraid Server, here are my specs:

    Intel 12600k
    64GB RAM

My 4kto1080 transcode is running at only around ~28fps, so it takes a while to complete and even stutters from time to time. Is my CPU too weak?

4K HDR to 1080P tone mapping was the reason I added a dGPU to my setup. 28fps is about the same as when my setup only had my i3 12100.

Would that A380 you have be the best bet? Trying to decide between intel and nvidia dgpu at the moment.

Strictly for usage with Jellyfin, I'd choose an Arc GPU over Nvidia. Primarily because RTX 4000 prices are still nuts. You can get older Nvidia cards but then you lose AV1 encoding.

Also, you don't have to patch Intel drivers to unlock unlimited streams like you have to do with Nvidia.

i5-12600k has a UHD770 with dual MFX engines, so 28fps doesn't sound normal. Please share your FFmpeg transcoding logs.

Wow, it's been so long and I never responded. I am still having this issue. How do I obtain the logs?

Log is too long to paste and too big of a file. I've pasted it here

It looks like hardware decoding of HEVC 10bit is not enabled. You need to enable them manually in the Dashboard.
