Hello,
I activated the "Experimental PGS rendering" option in Jellyfin. With that option, I can direct stream a mkv file with DV/AC3 audio and PGS subtitles activated. Without the option, activating the PGS subtitles activates transcoding.
However, if I select an audio track which is TrueHD Atmos (I have the passthrough option activated too, as my AVR is compatible with TrueHD Atmos), I get transcoding when the PGS subtitles are activated.
This means I have to choose:
- either use .srt to be able to play DV/TrueHD content without transcoding (but I prefer PGS)
- or use AC3 instead of TrueHD to be able to play DV/PGS content without transcoding
I would expect that it should be possible to play DV/TrueHD/PGS content without transcodig, as it seems those options when activated individually seem to work. Am I missing something here?
