    Hello,
I am confused on the difference between trickplay and chapter images.

I understand trickplay takes a long time to download and provides scrimming images when you are searching back and forth 10 seconds. It can be saved in the same folder with media.

I don't quite get chapter images. I enabled it and ran the scheduled task so they should be downloaded but I don't see anything different on my clients. You also can't save these with the media so I guess they save in the JF folder somewhere. What do these do? Are they pulled from the trickplay images?

I complain about Jellyfin a lot and have no idea what I'm doing.

Media can contain chapter markers, similar to a book, e.g., Intro, Scene 1, Scene 2, ..., End Credits.

Some clients, you can skip directly to these chapters. Chapter images generate an image for these specific timestamps (not the same as trickplays, which generate images for the whole file). They are stored in the Jellyfin internal metadata folder, and there is no option to save next to media like trickplays. In 10.11, you'll see the chapters as scenes in the UI.
