Having a totally flummoxing time getting Jellyfin set up on my iPad. Here’s the story.
I recently changed ISPs from Cable to Verizon Home Internet. For the most part that all went fine. Then I saw my devices were not picking up my Jellyfin server. I started with my iPhone, entered my server’s IP address (100.x.x.x:8096), and it worked fine.
Then I went to my SmartTV with Roku. Opened up the Jellyfin app. Got a blank screen with a small white dot in the upper rh corner. Nothing else. I removed the Jellyfin app from Roku & reinstalled it. It took me to the Connect to Server screen. I entered the exact same up address for the server that I put into my phone that worked. It worked, and I connected.
I moved on to my iPad. Entered the IP address, and got the dreaded “Server not found, is it online?” Message. Server is online. I even restarted the server. Same message.
Reset the Network settings on the iPad. Reconnected to my home network. Network works fine and I have Jellyfin working on my iPhone and on my SmartTv Roku, but iPad cannot find the Jellyfin Server.
Rebooted the modem. Same problem. Rebooted the Server machine (a Mac Mini m4) Same problem.
Why does it seem to not find my iPad, but seems to find the Server on my other devices? And yes, they’re all on the same network.
Thanks in advance.
