Recently switched to a samsung phone and for some reasons subtitles will not show up unless viewed in the integrated player, I have tried to use mpv, MX and Exo but subtitles will not show up in any of them. This doesn't happen on my older phone but I have found no way to fix it.

Sure, changed it into a .txt file since the website wouldn't allow me to attach it, but it shouldn't change anything.

(Also I'm not familiar with logs at all, but I'm seeing the line "TranscodeReasons=SubtitleCodecNotSupported" which I assume it means that my player doesn't support the subtitles, but that would be weird since they're the same .srt files that I used before with the same video players that does support it, if I'm wrong and it means something else than just discard everything I've said lol.

Are you sure you tried exoplayer? Your log doesn't show any attempts to use it. Only Stub.

Yes, I have tried to open it again in all 3 players that I mentioned at the beginning but it seems to recognize them all as "Android External Player Stub" which is pretty weird, also tried using MX player on my old phone and it also shows up as Stub but it does load the subtitles.

I'm starting to think this might be an OS issue as this isn't the first time that my phone has given me unsupported codec problems with videos, if you have any clue as to how I can fix it I'll appreciate it, but otherwise I won't waste your time and just use the integrated player, even if it has some features missing it is less of a headache.

Yeah. Definitely a weird issue. Use the integrated player. Also check out Findroid. Has offline playback support.
