Hi all,
I’m setting up a library in Jellyfin for my Twitch VODs and I want them sorted chronologically. I’ve been naming them with dates in brackets [YYYY-MM-DD] like this:
[2025-05-14] title 1
[2025-05-15] titles 2
In Windows Explorer, they appear in the correct chronological order, but when I add the folder into Jellyfin, they don’t. For example, the May 14 and May 17 files show up before the May 07 and May 09 ones.
I tried replacing the brackets with parentheses (YYYY-MM-DD) but the sorting issue stayed the same.
Does anyone know the best filename convention for Twitch VODs so they’ll sort correctly in Jellyfin? And which content type would you recommend for this kind of library? I’ve been experimenting with setting them as Music Videos since that allows thumbnails to auto-generate, which I really like.
Thanks in advance!
