    Hi,
I am kinda new, I have setup a jellyfin at home with 2 users so far (admin, livingroom). Now my daugther is asking for access as well in her room
    1) how well does the age restriction work? are there any ways to mess with it?
    2) same question for the content-management. if I add adult movies, and I dont allow them for the kid account. is there any way for her to overcome the restriction?

    Hey,

    1. Age restriction works pretty good if your metadata provider supports it and your naming and folder scheme is properly setup so that metadata can be obtained. I recommend also enabling the option to hide media that has no age rating. I did set it up for my niece and it works fine so far.
    2. Jellyfin is not really made for Adult content, there have been issues in the past for example with the splashscreen not respecting age rating. I recomend something like Stash instead for Adult content.
    typos are finders, keepers.

You can also go one step further and limit which libraries the age restricted account has access to. If your server is running Linux, you can create a separate folder, populate this folder with symlinks to "approved" content in other folders (the symlinks must be to folders and not files), then add this folder of symlinks to a library(s). Then you configure the child's account to only have access to these "approved" libraries.
