    Hello

I meet trouble to connect Jellyfin Android TV client to my Jellyfin server.
Jellyfin serveur run from under swizzin box.
Jellyfin serveur v10.10.6 is running behind nginx reverse proxy.

I am able to connect from pc with browser (firefox, chrome) but not from jellyfin Android client.
Jellyfin Android client run on Xiaomi Mi TV Box S 2nd Gen with Android tv 11.

When i try to connect, i get messages (translate from french, can be slightly different on english version)

    unable to connect to server:
    https://myserver.mydomain/jellyfin unable to connect
    https://myserver.mydomain:8086/jellyfin connection timeout
    https://myserver.mydomain:8920/jellyfin connection timeout
    http://myserver.mydomain/jellyfin unable to connect
    http://myserver.mydomain:8086/jellyfin connection timeout
    http://myserver.mydomain:8920/jellyfin connection timeout

Ports 8086 and 8920 are only open on local host, connection to Jellyfin serveur must be done using nginx reverse proxy on https port.

As certificat is self signed used by reverse proxy, i suppose that client don't accept to connect on main address (https://myserver.mydomain/jellyfin) for that reason.
Can you tell me if i am right, and if there is a way to disable certificat checking ?

    Many thanks for your help

Self signed certs will not work on Android TV. AFAIK, there is no easy way to add certs to the OS trust store and no way to ignore the cert errors.

I recommend installing certbot, from Let's Encrypt, to automate acquiring legit certs.

    Hi TheDreadPirate

    Thanks for your response.
The server is only available on lan (with internal lan name) so i think i can not use Let's Encrypt.
I will have to setup my Free ipa server to deliver certificat from private local domain CA Autority.
    Thanks for your help

If this is a LAN only setup, why use https at all?

    Hello, TheDreadPirate

Yes sure, but i am running Jellyfin in swizzin box and it install https only automatically.
So i hack swizzin to open http port to lan and setup Jellyfin tp not redirect to https the http request. It was easier than install certificat on android tv box (what a pitty !)Confused-face
    I now works correctly.
Thank you very much for your help and advice
