    Hi

I'm running JF 10.8.13 on Debian 12 and I have a problem with updates of metadatas.

If I add a media (movie or tv show) that JF doesn't recognise at all, no problem. I use the Identify menu and find the correct media and voilà Smiling-face

But if JF recognises the media wrongly it's impossible to make it right. When I use the identify menu it'll then import part of metadatas but not all and I'll end up with a mix of metadatas of the wrong detection and the manual detection Slightly-frowning-face Most of times it doesn't even update anything when I select the proper media in Identify menu.

How can I fix that issue ? any way to clean metadatas of a media to reassign it properly ?

    Thanks for help,

    Vincèn

You can add an ID to folder name and then scan the library for updates.

    Example

    Code:
    Violet Evergarden [tmdbid-75214]

This should aide with preventing misidentifications.
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage

Thanks for the trick I'll try it and see if it fixes the problem for TV Shows. For movies I can't do it as it's a shared library with a Plex server and I think it's going to mess the Plex scanner. Any other options ?

Are there NFO files in your directories?

No NFO at all, just the media files named using Plex rules.
What I don't understand is why Jellyfin doesnqt overwrite properly all metadatas of a media or series of medias (for TV shows) when I select the proper media in the lookup tool ??
