Hi Jellyfin mods and devs! I recently learned I have been banned from features.jellyfin.org for spamming there, from @Venson. He said I need to take some time to reflect on what I have done. My intention was to let other members know of feature X in feature Y (which is related to X and everything related to features.jellyfin.org. No outside links were posted.). I understand this was not seen well by the mods, and the ban will prevail for the foreseeable future.
I never understood why being so harsh with no ban timeline and no warning? Not only that, but I have also reported bugs for Jellyfin, and all of a sudden I am ostracized for a misunderstanding on spamming.

I wanted to keep this thread because PM'ing @Venson on discord directly doesn't seem right regarding tracking this issue. Thank you, and I am just trying to have a conversation.

Hi you've been spamming a copy-paste message onto multiple feature requests asking to upvote one specific feature request. There is no way to warn people on our Fider instance (features.jellyfin.org) and thus you've been banned immediately while we had to clean up those comments.

Honestly, all I did was search "stream" and posted link of the request thread you're talking about.

    I posted this link - https://features.jellyfin.org/posts/1444...s-per-user

    Onto here -- https://features.jellyfin.org/posts/977/...t-per-user

Because the rules say duplicates shouldn't be allowed but these are duplicates. I was letting people who were up voting the second one with 12 upvotes to go to the main thread with 65 upvotes to upvote, rather than create duplicate upvotes.
I also posted the first link on places which were related to streaming/bitrate limit requests.

""""Please do not spam with "someone please do this" or similar messages; it doesn't help. If you yourself can work on a feature, please do; if you know someone else who can, please ask them about it; and if none of the above, please be patient. """"

I never requested anyone to work on a feature. If posting request links for visibility is spam kindly please mention that in the rules or atleast give a warning here.

I know generally spamming is not allowed anywhere but that meant to me like posting NSFW or posting something trivial like "please bring this feature".
My comments were related to jellyfin and only jellyfin and that too request links.

I am also willing to rework spamming rules for features.jellyfin.org to explicitly mention to request links to be posted onto other request threads are not allowed.

I still apologize for my behaviour and would like a another chance for this confusion and take this thread as a warning given. I have read both rules in forum.jellyfin.org and features.jellyfin.org and will abide by them.

Yes, that is definitely spam. Our Fider is there to collect feature requests, and as it clearly says in the sidebar, posting replies to requests is NOT allowed unless they're substantive - simply saying "me too" or cross-posting links or whatever is not OK. As for why? Every time someone posts in one of those threads, everyone involved gets an email about it. I got over 30 emails from your posts alone.

I'm glad to hear you've understood, so we will remove the ban, but do not do it again.
