Struggling to find dev comment on inability to remove Live TV channels

    Hello all!

Let me start by stating I understand I'm not angling for a solution to this issue, it seems to be fairly well established - I'm just struggling to find any acknowledgement from the dev team on the issue tracker or elsewhere, all I'm seeing are empty posts and issues without comments.

What is the current state of play regarding Live TV channels, managing them or perhaps at least, removing channels? Like many others, I've made the mistake of adding too large a M3U playlist and now have thousands of channels I'll never even consider watching, with no way to remove them seemingly other than rebuilding my Library.db.

Does anyone, developer, contributor or user have any information regarding what the plan is here; will there be a feature implemented, is it a bug that needs fixing when removing M3U tuners, what's going on?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Just removing the m3u and rescanning my library has worked for me.

Thanks for the reply, been up and down the road with the quick fixes and try-its, the same has not worked for me! Regardless, an option to "delete channel" in the contextual menu on the metadata manager shouldn't be too much to ask for imo

Does your IPTV provider provide a single URL to pull down available channels? Or is each one broken out in the m3u file?

I believe it's broken out, I added the free-iptv list from GitHub.

Ah. I was able to replicate what you described. I had to click "refresh guide data" in Dashboard > Live TV to remove the channels.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've just given that a go there, that still doesn't seem to budge them for me. Someone else online suggested that for them they just had to wait some amount of time after removing their tuner, but that's been about a week for me now and no dice Slightly-frowning-face these are some sticky channels

Don't know if its related but I cannot delete Live TV Channels after adding HDHomeRun. Jellyfin added 49 channels of which 16 are dead channels. Rescanned the HD Home Run and want to update to the 33 good channels but 49 channels are still listed. Running guide update does nothing and trying to manual delete channels gives error make sure jellyfin has write permission. Jellyfin 10.10.4 on windows 11 vm.
