I've been using Jellyfin for quite some time now and been thinking about how to make the experience better with the user-stuff.

Been able to have profiles (sub users?) inside a user. Fast-switching between profiles inside a user, like kids account and my account, and even my wifes account would be sweet. Now you have to go to the profile, select logout then login again. It's a bunch of clicks and I basically have to educate my kids how to do that. My wife couldn't figure it out either so it's not that intuitive (this goes for all client apps).

My brother is using my Jellyfin too and he wants the same functionality for his family as well. Now we have 6 accounts in total, and it could be only two accounts with profiles inside it, perhaps more like user-groups..

    So basically:
    - MyFamily
       - Me
       - Wifey
       - Kids

    - BrothersFamily
       - Brother
       - BrothersWifey
       - BrothersKids

And it goes without saying that fast-switch between users would be a key-feature.

Password-less fast switching is already supported, and is the default behavior, on our two native TV clients, Roku and Android TV, for users that have previously logged into that TV.

If you are using a Samsung TV with Tizen OS or a LG TV running WebOS, they inherit the web browser UI and do not have fast switching.

Well, care to share a short gif on this? Because I need to go to Profile icon -> scroll down to logout -> select new user. That's quite a few clicks/taps on the remote.. Instead of "Select another user".

I would need to know which client you are using. It doesn't sound like Android TV or Roku, though.

    It's webOS on LG-tv.
Not sure it this post explains it better https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-feature-req...er-account

Even if I'm able to semi-fast-swtich, there's no way of handle groups or sub-users in the backoffice/admin-pages so I'm not sure if you and I think of the same feature I'm after.

WebOS is a jellyfin-web based client. So it inherits the web browser login behavior. As you've noticed, it does not have a quick switch.

Our Android TV and Roku clients have quick switching. Both are "native" clients, meaning they are built from the ground up and are not based on jellyfin-web like our WebOS app is.
