TL;DR: "Home" doesn't load when server isn't connected to the internet. And 'Movies' and 'Shows' don't show up to view my media.
So, this has been asked a million times before, but I'm having an issue with my Jellyfin setup. Fir a bit of background, I'm a long time Plex user and this is my first time using Jellyfin. This server will go long periods of time without access to internet, so I just need to use it as a media organizer/player and simple server.
Server details:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
16GB RAM
1 TB SSD (Internal) - Want to use as cache drive
16 TB HDD (External) - Main storage drive
Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon
Client Details:
Server above doubles as a client
Windows Beebox connected via ethernet to server via a switch
Roku or two
PS5 (eventually)
**No routers on network, just a simple LAN**
I'm also a relative newb when it comes to Linux, but I'm not afraid of any CLI stuff.
Here's the issue: when I first set up my server I loaded all my media on to the 16TB external, connected the server to the internet and added both my TV and Movies libraries. I let Jellyfin do its thing, indexing and downloading all the metadata and organizing my media. I was under the impression that Jellyfin would work out of the box without internet (after setup of course), but there's probably some setup things that I'm missing.
When accessing the server via localhost:8096 or 127.0.0.1:8096, I'm able to log in, but none of my media show up in the 'Home' window. Just as a test, I reconnected to the internet, added a favorite, and that shows up without an internet connection.
So, I'm curious if I'm missing some type of setting or something. I know Plex has a 'list of IPs that don't need auth' and I couldn't seem to find a similar setting in Jellyfin.
Any help would be amazing!!!
