Very odd issue when connecting locally

basically, im running my jellyfin server on my PC at house A, and i can connect to the server using the jellyfin media player on my PC from house B. however, im unable to use the jellyfin media player to connect to the server at house A, the house im running the server on. its weird because it lets me use the webapp but that doesn't support some of the videos im watching so i need to use the media player. i could technically just watch the videos using VLC media player but i want to have something thats cleaner and setup in a nice way. im 99% sure its just a weird issue with the media player itself and not with the server but ive uninstalled and reinstalled twice and did the "repair" option on the uninstall prompt, none have worked. ive restarted my pc too and the jellyfin server like 10 times.

nevermind i seem to have fixed the issue by instead of typing in the regular ip or whatever that it says i typed in "localhost:8096" and that works.

is jellyfin bound to a lan ip address?
is it listening on localhost?
did you try localhost?
what server OS? linux? windows? truenads?

nevermind user fixed it themselves
