    Watching FSBS in VR

Set fullscreen and then 3D LR projection, but assumes HSBS even though metadata is FSBS

I'm trying to play 3D movies on a Quest 2 headset, most are Full SBS so I have the filenames include 3D_FSBS - Jellyfin seems to pick that up, as the metadata shows FSBS - however, when you play in the browser it shows the images side-by-side until you select fullscreen - when it's full screen you then have to change the projection to 3D Left/Right to see in stereo but the image is stretched - I'm sure if the film was HSBS it would show fine.

If before I go fullscreen, I set the aspect ratio to "fill" rather than "auto" - I can get it to show correctly, but if a film had the black bars trimmed, I suspect it would not.

I did try putting "16:9" as the aspect ratio in the metadata, but that didn't seem to make any difference.

Am I doing something wrong - or is FSBS not supported ??

Which way do you use to watch videos from Jellyfin in VR?

I found the only way that works reliably is watching through Jellyfin WEB interface via web browser such as Wolvic or Meta's own browser since there is no native Jellyfin VR client.

If watching via WEB interface, my understanding is that the 3D behavior is controlled by the browser, and not by Jellyfin. Neither Wolvic, nor Meta web browser provide a correct way to watch full TAB (top-and-bottom) or SBS (side-by-side) videos. They always stretch videos either vertically or horizontally unfortunately.

Using Jellyfin DLNA server was a hit and miss for me. Sometimes it works, and the UPnP folder is detected within my Quest 3, but most of the time it does not.

For now, I found that the new Commedia Video Player (from Meta Quest store) works best when playing full SBS videos from a local media folder within the Quest. And I also had very good luck with connecting to Jellyfin DLNA server from this player as well - far better than from within Bigscreen VR! Although, it takes forever to load a video. Give it a try.
