Hi everyone,
I’m currently running TrueNAS Scale (Dragonfish) on Proxmox with GPU passthrough.
My hardware is old but still working well:
Right now, I’m using an old RX 460 I had lying around, but it’s not suitable for hardware transcoding (e.g., Plex/Jellyfin). I’m looking to replace it with something that works reliably with TrueNAS Scale in 2025.
I’ve been considering a few options, but I’d really appreciate advice from those with real-world experience:
If anyone has tips or knows which drivers are stable right now, that would be a huge help. Thanks in advance!

- What GPU would you recommend for hardware transcoding on TrueNAS Scale (Dragonfish)?
- Preferably something low power, well supported, and ideally under €100-120.
