Hi all. Total newbie to Unraid/Jellyfin as of a week ago.
Love it all so far. I setup my Jellyfin server as I wanted it, got it all perfect etc. Last step was for me to allow outside connections.
So at first I wanted to make sure I could open a straight port to test if I was doing it right, before I set up a reverse proxy (I believe that's the right term) to make it semi secure.
Anyway got it working by introducing a port forwarding rule on my HUB. Me being daft tried to make it more secure and I changed the network connection port on Jellyfin under the network settings from 8096. It didn't seem to work, so I reverted it back to 8096. However when I left the jellyfin UI I can no longer access it on anything. I panicked and got rid of the port forwarding rule on my hub and it still won't launch on my pc or phone via local network now.
The following is true;
> Looks like Jellyfin is running on Unraid.
> Clicking on the name Jellyfin on Docker shows it is still using port 8096.
> I get the following message on the web browser when I try to run the Jellyfin GUI " This site can’t be reached 192.168.0.59 refused to connect.
> Same with the phone app.
> Restarting of PC/Server/Jellyfin, turning off windows firewall does nothing.
So in summary "all" I changed was the Jellyfin port number via the app and introduced a port forwarding that didnt work (that I removed straight away).
Can anyone help in really simple terms? I feel stupid, but I guess we all have to start somewhere. Really don't want to lose all the customizing I've done to my media database
