I own a Synology DS220+, with Celeron J4025 CPU. That CPU comes with Intel UHD600 graphics, which should be able to transcode without a problem.
I'm not sure what am I doing wrong, but I can only DIRECT STREAM to my PC or Phone. Video plays, but when I choose the lower bitrate, it crashes and tells me that the "this client isn't compatible with the media and the server isn't sending a compatible media format".
My use case is that I work on an oil rig and streaming media from Synology at home. Since the internet speeds are slow, I need to lower the bitrate.
Could you please recommend, if someone else has a setup on Synology, how to set the transcoding settings to be able to watch it on client devices in lower quality.
Thank you
Current transcoding settings:
Hardware acceleration - Quicksync
Enable hardware decoding for - All selected
Prefer OS native DXVA or VA-API hardware decoders - Not selected
Enable hardware encoding - Yes
Enable Intel Low-Power H.264 hardware encoder - No
Enable Intel Low-Power HEVC hardware encoder - No
Allow encoding in HEVC format - No
Enable VPP Tone mapping - No
Enable Tone mapping - No
I turned off most of them because I don't know what they do, and such options may cause the issues...
