No luck playing

Hi, I have a lot of episodic content, and I'm looking for a way to play individual mkv files one after another automatically. The goal is to play on an Android tablet and on a TV. My content is currently on a NAS serving content via SMB to VLC on my Android tablet, and via SMB to my set-top box. For the TV, I've dabbled with serving it via DLNA using Kodi, and now looking at Jellyfin. It's ok if i have to juse an app to cast from the tablet to the TV, though I'd somewhat prefer a set-top box with remote.

On many of our clients, there should be options to "shuffle all" or "play all". For "Play all" it is typically at the season level. For "Shuffle all" that is something you can do for a whole show.
