Hello everyone,
I’ve been struggling to set up a secure Jellyfin server with SSL and a free domain. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Domain Setup Attempts:
- I created a domain with No-IP, but when I tried to configure it with Cloudflare, it asked me to set nameservers. However, it seems I can’t change the nameservers on the free No-IP domain.
- I then created a domain with DuckDNS, but I ran into the same issue.
- I created a domain with No-IP, but when I tried to configure it with Cloudflare, it asked me to set nameservers. However, it seems I can’t change the nameservers on the free No-IP domain.
- Current Situation:
- I can access my Jellyfin server from outside my home network, but only in an unsecured (HTTP) state.
- My goal is to create a secure (HTTPS) connection using a free domain with SSL that renews automatically.
- I can access my Jellyfin server from outside my home network, but only in an unsecured (HTTP) state.
- Issues with Ports:
- I can only access the server externally via port 8096. All other ports (e.g., 80, 443) appear blocked.
- I contacted my ISP, and they confirmed the ports are open on their side, but they still appear blocked when I test them.
- I even disabled the firewall temporarily to ensure it’s not the issue, but the ports remain blocked.
- I can only access the server externally via port 8096. All other ports (e.g., 80, 443) appear blocked.
What I Need Help With:
- How can I create a secure Jellyfin server with a free SSL domain that renews automatically?
- Is there a workaround for the blocked ports, especially for 80 and 443?
- Does anyone have a guide or video tutorial for setting up SSL with a free domain, considering my limitations?
