Book issues!

Hello,
I'm experimenting with the Book library content type and it works well enough but one of my main issues is I cannot get cover thumbnails for .pdf files. Is this possible? I am using the Bookshelf plug-in. Is there another plug-in that works better? Or do I need to create my own cover for .pdf files?

Another issue I'm having is, I have my Novels structured Author Folder ----> Books (EPUB) like Jellyfin recommends, but it is displaying the folders and the individual books alongside each other so the entire thing is just a mess.

I also see that only Audiobooks are available on Jellyfin Roku which is interesting since you can view Home videos/pictures on Roku but not any type of .EPUB, .PDF, etc. Not that I would want to read a book on a giant TV any time soon but the option would be cool for picture books or comics.

Yea, i have all my books in pdf format because that was the standard for sharing content for decades across all platforms. Can stick it in anything and be able to read it. But for the life of me I can't get it to work in jellyfin at all.
I am older and would love to be able to read the books on bigscreen which would make it so much easier.

But, it just simply tries forever to load it and does nothing.

I am using mint, latest build and updates. I am kinda confused. Had a hard time at first getting jelly to serve anything, adding groups and users and permissions etc... it seems to be working ok other than the books... accept for the hard drive being renamed from hdd1 to 2 for some reason and having to rebuild, or rather delete libraries and add them again with correct path.

I am loading jelly in brave, not sure that should make a difference.

I have three different tv devices that I test with, lg webos, roku, and onn googletv devices, both an hd and a 4k. Books is the same across all of them.

Just sets there and tries to load, endless load circle.

I tried doing search on this and this was only thread that came up. I thought I made one but could not find it.

Anyway, I thank you for any help. Learning this has been challenge but fun and I love how everyone helps each other. So refreshing coming from windows. Billy Boy really screwed the pooch trying force everyone buy new computers lol...NOT.... anyway, thanks ahead of time for help... let me know if i need do something special. I guess i should try and convert a few to epub and see if it makes a difference....

update, yea converted one to epub just to see if made a difference and it didn't..

I would advise to try to find another platform for reading books. I've heard good things about, I think it was called Calibre or something. I don't think Books are a very high priority in this project so you will probably be waiting a long time for it be functioning well. 

Before the new server update, I could get .PDF files to open and read but they didn't have a cover while .EPUB worked fine albeit a bit slow and .MODI didn't load at all. After the server update, I can't get any books to work at all or it takes a million years to load them, even with metadata refreshed. I just pulled that library for now.

So we will have to wait for it to be fixed on the new server which could take awhile since they have to fix all the movie/show issues first. Also, reading on the Jellyfin official app was not too terribly great before the server update. I heard about a github project called "Jellybook" but they pulled the beta a year ago and it honestly just looks abandoned.
